Second coming
In plain words
Jesus will come back to earth in person, to judge, to make all things right and to stay.
Jesus came once as a baby. The Bible promises He will come again, this time openly, as King. When He returns, the dead will be raised, evil will be judged, and everything broken will be put right. Nobody knows the date. But it is certain, and Christians look forward to it with hope rather than fear.

After Jesus went up into heaven, angels told the disciples He would come back in the same way they had seen Him go (Acts 1:11). Paul says the Lord Himself will come down from heaven and believers will be with Him for ever (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Jesus said no one knows the day or hour (Matthew 24:36), so date setting is a mistake.
This hope shapes ordinary life. Titus calls it the blessed hope (Titus 2:13). You do not need to fear the news or the future. Live faithfully today, love people, keep short accounts with God, and pray what the Bible ends with: Come, Lord Jesus (Revelation 22:20).

The New Testament uses parousia, arrival or presence, epiphaneia, appearing, and apokalypsis, revealing. The Old Testament prophets saw a coming Day of the Lord. The apostles saw that Day split in two: Jesus came first to save and will come again to judge and renew. The early creeds confess that He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
Christians agree that Jesus will return bodily, visibly and finally. They differ on the order of events and on the thousand years of Revelation 20. Some expect a literal reign of Christ on earth before the final state, some read the thousand years as the present church age, and some expect the gospel to spread widely before He comes. Your local church can explain its view.
My verses
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.”
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
As we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
