Jesus
In plain words
A real man from history who is also God, who died for our sins and rose again.
Jesus lived about two thousand years ago in Israel. He taught, healed sick people, and spent time with people others avoided. Christians believe He is not only a good teacher but God Himself who became a human being. Think of a king who leaves his palace to live in the poorest street of his city, not for a visit but to stay and to rescue the people there.

The Bible says Jesus came to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). He did not only show us how to live. He died in our place and rose again, so that through Him we can come to the Father (John 14:6). A common mistake is to treat Him as a moral example only. You follow Him as Lord, but first you receive Him as Saviour.

Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew Yeshua, meaning the LORD saves. Christ is not a surname but a title: the Greek christos translates the Hebrew mashiach, the anointed one. The early church confessed Him as fully God and fully human, one person (John 1:14, Philippians 2:6-8). Christians agree on this core, while they differ on some details of how His divine and human natures relate.
My verses
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross.
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
