Kingdom of God
In plain words
The kingdom of God is God's rule, where things are the way He wants them, begun in Jesus.
When Jesus started preaching, His first message was: "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel" (Mark 1:15). He did not mean a country on a map. He meant God's rule, the place where God is king and things are put right.
Think of a rebel territory that has just been reached by the rightful king. The final victory is certain, but the work of setting things right is still going on. With Jesus, God's kingdom has arrived, and one day it will fill the whole world. You are invited to belong to it now.

Jesus taught us to pray: "Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). That means God's kingdom is not only about the afterlife. It shows up now wherever God's will is done: in healing, justice, forgiveness and changed lives.
A common misunderstanding is that the kingdom is about food rules or outward religion. Paul says it is "righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17). Another is to wait passively. You can live as a citizen of the kingdom this week by forgiving someone, serving someone and telling the truth.

The Greek basileia tou theou means reign or kingship more than territory. Matthew mostly says kingdom of heaven, a respectful Jewish way of saying the same thing. The Old Testament prophets looked for a day when God would reign over all nations, and Jesus announced that day had begun in Him.
Jesus said the kingdom does not come with signs to be observed, because it is "in your midst" (Luke 17:20-21). Scholars speak of already and not yet: present in Jesus, completed at His return. Christians differ on end-times timelines and how the kingdom relates to the church, but agree that Jesus is king now.
My verses
“The time is fulfilled,” He said, “and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel!”
Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
When asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God will not come with observable signs. Nor will people say, ‘Look, here it is,’ or ‘There it is.’ For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
