How do I become a Christian?
Short answer
Turn to Jesus. Admit your sin, trust that He died and rose for you, and give Him your life. You can do it today.
You don't become a Christian by being good, going to church or growing up in a Christian home. By grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God.
Coming to Jesus means admitting you have sinned and can't fix it, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and turning to follow Him as Lord of your life.
No magic formula, but you could pray: Jesus, I have done wrong and I need You. Thank You for dying for me and rising again. I trust You. Forgive me and make me new.
If you meant that, you have started a walk, not finished one: “just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in Him” (Colossians 2:6). Tell another Christian today. Then find a church, ask about baptism and start reading Mark.
My verses
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.
But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.
Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away.
