Fruit of the Spirit

Peace

Calm trust in God, and making peace with others.

What this is

Peace starts with peace with God: through Jesus your sins are forgiven and you are no longer His enemy. From that grows a settled trust that He is in control.

Peace doesn't mean no problems or dodging every conflict. Keeping quiet to avoid a hard conversation isn't peace. Sometimes peace means facing things honestly so they can be resolved.

The Spirit grows peace as you bring your worries to God. Pray, let go of what you can't control, and be first to make peace with others.

In Jesus

In a violent storm, while the disciples panicked, Jesus slept. Woken, He calmed the wind with a word and asked why they were afraid (Mark 4:38-40).

When it's missing

worry, control, restlessness, quarrels

My verses

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
John 14:27 (BSB)Read the whole chapter: John 14

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be thankful.

If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone.
