Short answer
Same-sex attraction is not a sin in itself. The Bible teaches that sex is for marriage between a man and a woman, for everyone.
If you experience same-sex attraction, God loves you and you are welcome in His family. You didn't choose your feelings, and they don't make you worse than anyone. Temptation is not sin: Jesus was tempted in every way that we are.
Historic Christian teaching, held across the centuries and most of the world, is that God made marriage for a man and a woman, and sex belongs there. The New Testament lists same-sex sexual acts beside sins like greed and drunkenness, then says: that is what some of you were, but you were washed.
So every Christian is called to the same holiness and self-control, married or single, whatever their attractions. Singleness is not a lesser life. Jesus was single.
This path can be lonely and hard, so please don't carry it alone. Talk to a mature Christian you trust. If you're being bullied, or feel you can't go on, talk to someone today. Churches need to do far better at being real family to every single person.
My verses
Jesus answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.
I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.
