Calling, work and everyday life

Does God have a plan for my life?

Short answer

Yes. His main plan is that you become like Jesus and love Him and others. Within that, He guides you step by step.

God's plan is not a hidden map where one wrong turn ruins everything. Much of His will is already written down: that you become like Jesus, live a holy life, rejoice, pray and give thanks in every situation.

He also has good purposes for your life. He made you on purpose and prepared good works for you, and He works all things together for good for those who love Him, even mistakes and pain.

Often we only see His plan looking back. It's like walking at night with a lamp: you see the next few steps, and that is enough.

Focus on today. Love God, do what Scripture already says, take the next faithful step, and trust Him with the rest.

My verses

And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be.
