Salvation
In plain words
God rescuing you from sin and its results, and bringing you into life with Him for ever.
Salvation means being rescued. Picture someone drowning far out at sea. They do not need swimming tips. They need someone to pull them out. The Bible says this is what God does through Jesus. If you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Go further Growing
Salvation is God's work, not a reward for being good (Titus 3:5). But it is meant to change you. Jesus gave Himself to make for Himself a people "zealous for good deeds" (Titus 2:14), and God works in you so that you can grow (Philippians 2:12-13). It helps to think of three tenses: you have been saved from sin's penalty, you are being saved from its power, and one day you will be saved from its presence.

Hebrew yeshuah and Greek soteria both carry the idea of rescue, safety and wholeness. The Exodus from Egypt is the great Old Testament picture of salvation, and the cross is its fulfilment. Peter says there is salvation in no one else but Jesus (Acts 4:12). Christians differ on whether a truly saved person can finally fall away, but agree that we can trust God to keep His promises.
My verses
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose.
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.
