The Bible

Doesn't science disprove God?

Short answer

No. Science explains how the world works. It cannot tell you why there is a world at all, and many great scientists have been Christians.

Science studies the natural world by observing, testing and measuring. It is a good gift, and many of its founders were Christians who expected an orderly world from a rational God.

But science has limits. It can tell you how a cell divides, not why anything exists, whether your life has meaning, or whether love matters.

Miracles are by definition not normal events. Science says dead people don't normally rise, and Christians agree. That's why it would mean something if one did.

If you love science, keep going. Studying creation can be worship. The psalm says the works of the Lord are great, and studied by all who delight in them.

My verses

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. Without speech or language, without a sound to be heard, their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun.

Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter and the glory of kings to search it out.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.
