Death, heaven and hell
Will my pet be in heaven?
Short answer
The Bible doesn't say directly. But it promises a renewed creation full of life, and a God who cares about the creatures He made.
If you've loved an animal, this is a real question, and pet grief is real grief.
The Bible doesn't say whether particular pets will be there, so be wary of anyone who is certain. It does say God made animals and called them good, and not one sparrow falls without the Father knowing. The prophets picture wolf and lamb at peace, and all creation is waiting to be set free.
So the new creation will be fuller than this one, not emptier. Whatever God does will be good, and you will not be disappointed.
Thank God for the joy your pet brought you. That joy came from Him.
My verses
And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, land crawlers, and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that crawls upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat; the calf and young lion and fatling will be together, and a little child will lead them.
The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
