Short answer

God grieves what divorce does to people, but He doesn't reject divorced people. There is grace and a future for you.

God designed marriage for life, and divorce tears apart something meant to be one. Jesus said, what God has joined together, let man not separate.

The Bible also knows the world is broken. Jesus allowed divorce for sexual unfaithfulness, and Paul when an unbelieving spouse leaves. Christians differ on details, so talk with your pastor. God never asks anyone to stay in danger. If you are being abused, get to safety and talk to someone today.

If you are divorced, you are not a second-class Christian, even if you carry guilt. God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

If your marriage is struggling but not over, get help early from a pastor or Christian counsellor. Many marriages that seemed finished have been rebuilt.

My verses

Jesus answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart; but it was not this way from the beginning. Now I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman, commits adultery.”

But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
