Calling, work and everyday life
How do I talk to my friends about Jesus without being weird?
Short answer
Be a real friend first, ask good questions, share your own story honestly, and let God do the convincing.
You don't need every answer. Most people come to faith through a friend who lived it and was willing to talk about it.
Start by caring. Pray for two or three friends by name and listen to them. Be the same person on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
If someone asks why you go to church, or how you got through something hard, tell them: what you were like, how you met Jesus, what difference He makes. Keep it short. Ask: What do you think about God?
Peter says always be prepared to give the reason for your hope, with gentleness and respect. Invite friends to church, to a course for people exploring faith, or to read Mark with you. Changing hearts is God's job.
My verses
But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect.
Act wisely toward outsiders, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.
