God and Jesus
Aren't all religions basically the same?
Short answer
No. They differ on the biggest questions, and Jesus made a claim no other founder made: that He is the only way to the Father.
Many religions teach kindness, honesty and care for the poor. But they disagree on who God is, what is wrong with us and how it gets fixed, so they can't all be true. Most describe what you must do to reach God. Jesus is God reaching you.
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” That sounds narrow, but the door is open to everyone on earth.
This should make Christians humble. We didn't find God by being cleverer or better. He found us.
Treat people of other faiths with respect. Listen to what they believe, and be ready to tell them gently why you trust Jesus.
My verses
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect.
