Fruit of the Spirit
Faithfulness
Being reliable to God and people, over the long haul.
What this is
Faithfulness means others can count on you. You keep your word, show up, stay loyal and keep trusting God over years.
Faithfulness isn't perfection or never doubting. It is steady loyalty to God and to the commitments He has given you.
God is always faithful, even when you are not. The Spirit grows faithfulness in you as you rely on His. Keep small promises: big faithfulness is built from small ones.
In Jesus
In Gethsemane, facing the cross, Jesus was in anguish. Still He prayed: not My will, but Yours be done, and He stayed the course (Luke 22:42).
When it's missing
flakiness, broken promises, quitting when it costs
My verses
Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!
Never let loving devotion or faithfulness leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’
Now it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.
If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
Where to next
- Keep one small promiseThink of something you promised and haven't done. Do it this week, or honestly say you can't.
- Say yes less oftenBefore you commit, ask: Can I really keep this? A careful yes beats a broken one.
- Show up regularlyChoose one regular commitment, like church or a weekly call, and keep it every week this month.
- Remember God's faithfulnessWrite down three times God came through for you. Read them when you feel like giving up.

Faithful God, Your mercies are new every morning. Make me someone who keeps my word and stays loyal to You and to others, in small things and in big ones.
